Taken to the cleaners I recently had a very poor experience with Sandys 1 hour Dry Cleaning in Seymour, Indiana. I brought in my $600 Kenneth Cole suit to have it dry cleaned. My suit is only 4 months old and it has only been worn twice in that time. When I picked it up a day later there were two buttons broken off on the left sleeve and one button broken off the right. When I called the dry cleaners back, the owner Sandy Jaynes stated that she was not responsible for buttons and refused to pay for the dry cleaning ($16.85) or the amount it would cost to replace the buttons ($15). She only stated that she would put on the buttons that were supposed to come with the suit. Why would I ever trust her to touch one of my expensive suits again, and I’m sure she would have charged me again.
This was the first bad experience I have had with a local retailer in Seymour. Most locally owned businesses understand the importance of good customer service. This retailer refused to take any responsibility towards her business or her customers. I would think that the way the economy is now, that small businesses would do what ever they could to get and retain new clients. However the attitude and total disregard for retail standards that Sandys One Hour Cleaning showed is not what I think the citizens of Seymour deserve.
